Visual Redemption - Install Guide

Introduction

Visual Redemption (VisualR) is a "work-in-progress" graphics overhaul mod for Red Dead Redemption II on PC. There were various tweaks made in order to enhance the overall atmosphere and provide a more realistic experience.

Currently this mod overhauls various weathers, improves shadow distance in each weather, reduces the intensity of heat haze, fixes bloom render on lights, improves water reflections, fixes moon positioning and much more.

Additionally, this mod supports the RedM multiplayer client.

• Fully overhauled lighting, fog and colors in 'Clouds' weather
• Adjusted fog and lighting in Overcast weather for better balance
• Fixed an issue with directional shadow render distance
• Adjusted 'fog_start' values in each weather in order to improve fog transitions between weathers
• Fixed an issue with grainy shadows when 'Full Resolution SSAO' is disabled in graphics settings
• Misc. tweaks and adjustments

• Slightly increased ped and vehicle LOD distance
• Added an optional add-on called "No Vignetting" which completely removes top and bottom vignetting from the game during all hours
• Added an optional add-on called "VisualR for RedM" which lets users install this mod for the RedM client
• Misc. tweaks and adjustments

Requirements and General Info

Recommended Specs

With Visual Redemption, your in-game performance will be about the same as vanilla. 

The only thing that matters is how you currently run RDR2 without mods and the FPS you receive on average.

Getting Ready

Before we begin, make sure you have ScripthookRDR2 and the Mod Loader installed.

Please make sure to read the install instructions on each download link above.

Install Instructions

Step 1:

• Download and extract the 'Visual Redemption' archive to your desktop.
• Open the folder called 'Main Files' which you just extracted.
• Right-click and copy the folder titled 'Visual_Redemption'.

Step 2:

Browse to your "Red Dead Redemption 2" game folder.

This is usually located at 'C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2'.

Step 3:

Open the folder labeled 'lml'.

Paste the 'Visual_Redemption' folder that you copied earlier into the 'lml' folder.

Optional Add-Ons

There are several optional add-ons within the Visual Redemption folder.
Here is a brief overview of what each add-on does.

This add-on will completely remove vignette effects from the game.

This add-on will let you install Visual Redemption locally for the RedM multiplayer client.

This add-on will retain the games original art style but still apply other improvements we made to the game.
